SP turning UP into 'Muslim' state: BJP

Basti, Sep 6 (UNI) The BJP today slammed the Samajwadi Party-led Uttar Pradesh government for trying to turn UP into a 'Muslim' state.

Addressing a conclave organised by BJP Yuva Jan Morcha here, party's state unit president Keshari Nath Tripathi alleged Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav's government had utterly failed in all the aspects and was only devoted towards the development of big industrialists.

''The UP government is befooling people in the name of unemployment allowance, 'Kanya Vidya Dhan Yojna' and sari distribution programe,'' Mr Tripathi said.

He added other political parties were unnecessarily raking the controversy of Vande Mataram for narrow political gains. ''One who opposes the singing of the national song is not a true lover of his motherland.'' Mr Tripathi also held the state government responsible for the violence in Basti on August 25 over the renovation of a primary school wall, in which 9 people, including four police personnel and five others, were injured.
