Rains accompanied by thundershowers lash city, suburbs

Mumbai, Sep 6 (UNI) Intermittent rains accompanied by thundershowers lashed Mumbai city and suburbs this morning.

The Suburbs witnessed heavy rains recorded at 9.2 mm while the city recorded only 0.3 mm rains between 0830 hrs and 1130 hours this morning. In the last 24 hrs, the city has recorded 10 mm of rain and suburbs 33.9 mm, the Weather bureau said.

It has forecast more further rain/thundershowers in some parts of the city and suburbs.

Mumbai city and suburbs witnessed heavy rains yesterday morning as well. Normal life during peak office hours was not affected today on account of the state government holiday of ''Anant Chaturdashi'', the immersion day of Lord Ganpati marking the end of the 11 day Ganpati festival.
