Prof's death: Hospital returns organ sans examination
Ujjain, MP, Sep 6 (UNI) The Indore-based Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital has returned to the CID, sans examination, the heart of deceased Prof Harbhajan Singh Sabharwal who died on August 26 following violence at the local Madhav College in the wake of abrupt postponement of a students' union poll.
''The organ was improperly sealed while being conveyed to the hospital. That might lead to legal complications. I am unaware of whether the heart is being sent to us again. Only after all the documents are obtained will we be able to fathom what the CID was actually looking for,'' Dean V K Saini said at Indore.
The organ was returned by the hospital yesterday. The district hospital and the police shrugged off the matter by saying that the case was now in the CID's jurisdiction.
Madhya Pradesh's main opposition Congress organised a statewide 'bandh' yesterday in protest against the August 26 incident. Tha party demanded a CBI inquiry.
