Prof's death: Court admits plea against CM
Ujjain, MP, Sep 6 (UNI) A local court has admitted a plea against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, alleging concealment of evidence and indulging in rhetoric prior to a CID probe into the August 26 death of local Madhav College Prof Harbhajan Singh Sabharwal in violence following abrupt postponement of a students' union poll.
Parties concerned have been issued notices summoning them on September 15 in the court of Judicial Magistrate Vidhi Saksena before whom the petition was filed by Prof Sabharwal's son Himanshu.
The petition was admitted under sections 201 and 203 of the IPC.
Mr Himanshu's statement has been recorded and Petitioner's Counsel Kailash Nagar said, ''summons were issued to SDM Manoj Pushp, CSP Manoj Singh and the district hospital's Senior Physician Kishore Nagar.'' After recording their statements, the bench would decide whether to summon the Chief Minister.
Prior to ordering a CBI probe, Mr Chouhan described the death as accidental and not murder.
