Notorious rowdy arrested in Karaikal

Pondicherry, Sep 6 (UNI) Cracking down on anti-social elements here, the Pondicherry police has arrested a 27-year-old notorious rowdy.

Senior Superintendent of Police B Srikanth told newsmen that Thulasi, who was arrested in Karaikal last night, was brought to Pondicherry.

Brother of another rowdy Kumar, who was hacked to death sometime back, Thulasi had vowed to avenge the killing of his brother, he said adding that another rowdy Bhagayaraj, who had surrendered before a court in Tamil Nadu, would be taken into police custody as he was wanted in connection with several murder cases here.

Mr Srikanath reiterated that only the introduction of Goondas Act would help to wipe out rowdy menace here.
