Normal weather in Kolkata for next 48 hours
Kolkata, Sep 6 (UNI) The city today experienced humid and sultry weather conditions after almost regular rains for the past one week.
The city today woke up to a bright sunny morning which became intense in the later part of the day.
The weathermen predicted a hot and sultry climate tomorrow as the depression has moved in the north westerly drection to the southern part of Rajasthan.
Meteorological warden K Sitaram told UNI that the moisture laden clouds were inactive and would remain so for next 24 hours.
He said the active monsoon would remain up to second week of October.
Asked about the cause of current change in the climatic conditions, he said the Inter Tropical Convergence (ITC) Zone, that encircles the globe determines the weather is presently positioned at the south of the normal which is responsible for the abnormal rains in Rajasthan.
The ITC is responsible for normal rains in North Bengal and most parts of the northern India, he added.
The maximum temperature today was 33 Degrees Celsius and the minimum 25 degrees C.
The maximum humidity remained at 95 per cent.
