Newly-appointed teachers not to get inter-dist transfers

Hubli, Sep 6 (UNI) Karnataka Primary and Higher Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj Horatti today said newly-appointed teachers would not get inter district transfers and have to work in the same district till their retirement.

Inaugurating a government high school here, he said rules to this effect were being formed. ''There will not be any transfers from one district to another and a decision to this effect will be finalised in the Cabinet meeting.'' The Minister said newly-appointed teachers should compulsorily work at a place at least 10 to 15 km away from cities. Steps had been taken to avoid delay in payment of salaries to teachers. The funds would be released to the Taluk Panchayats concerned so that salaries could be disbursed by the fifth of every month.
