NASA delays space shuttle launch due power problem

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla, Sep 6 (Reuters) NASA postponed the launch of the space shuttle Atlantis today due to a technical problem with the spacecraft's onboard power supply, a NASA official said.

Atlantis had been scheduled for a 2159 hrs launch from Florida's Kennedy Space Center on a mission to resume construction of the International Space Station, which was halted following the destruction of shuttle Columbia in 2003.

NASA said it would try to launch the shuttle on Thursday.
