Medopharm launches new product

Chennai, Sept 6 (UNI) Leading health care products company "Medopharm" today launched their new product Cledomox for the domestic market.

Mr Pannalal Chordia Director, Operations, told newsmen that the company would inaugurate its Rs 25 crore new facility at Guduvanchery suburb here on September 9 when commercial production of the antibiotic Betalactam would be launched.

He said the new manufacturing facility was established as per international standards and USFDA certifications. They already have two manufacturing facilities at Bangalore and Hyderabad.

He said the company has a wide range of products in key therapeutic segments with over 300 formulations in different strengths and dosage forms.

He said the company's products were available in more than 60 countries, in New Zealand, Africa, Europe and South East Asia. The company has been exporting its products to most of the countries in these continents for the World Bank aided health care projects there.

He said the company had a vast distributing network in 15 states in the country. It had achieved a sale of Rs 150 crore, of which 75 per cent was through the export market, last year. The company also projected sales to the tune of Rs 200 crore during the current financial year.

He said the company aimed at becoming an icon in the pharmaceutical sector by the year 2008.
