Infosys to increase investment in EMEA
Bangalore, Sep 6 (UNI) Software major Infosys Technologies today announced the expansion of its nearshore capability at Brno in the Czech Republic, with the setting up of a new 350-seat facility that would become operational from January next year.
The centre, currently under development, would double the existing facilities of Infosys in the Czech Republic and increase its capacity for IT services to its European customers, Infosys said in a release here.
The expansion of Infosys' nearshore operations in the Czech Republic, the opening of the second onshore development centre in Swindon, UK, the existing onshore development centre in Germany and the nearshore operations in Mauritius reflect the increasing adoption of outsourcing by European companies, the company said.
''The expansion of Infosys' European facilities reflects the 60 per cent growth Infosys has experienced in the region for the past three years...We are firm believers in becoming part of the communities we operate in and have recently launched a campus recruitment program to attract the UK's brightest talent,'' Mr B G Srinivas, heading EMEA for Infosys, said.
The sites in Europe ensure that the skill capabilities match the requirements in Europe such as local language, culture and adhere to European Union regulations.
The expansion was also part of the company's strategy to help customers develop their global sourcing strategies by offering customers the right location and the right skillsets at the most competitive pricing, Infosys said.
