Hoax bomb caller held
Chennai, Sep 6 (UNI) The Cyber Crime Team probing the bomb threat which delayed the departure of President A P J Abdul Kalam's special aircraft to New Delhi on September four, today arrested a youth in connection with the incident.
According to an official release this evening, Perinbaraj (21) working for a jewellery shop in T Nagar of the city, made the call from a public booth.
The caller said a bomb was planted in the aircraft in which the Tamil Nadu Governor was to travel.
Since the Governor had no air travel plans, the police thoroughly searched the Presidential aircraft as a matter of abundant caution.No explosives were found and the call was found to be hoax.
Later, the President left for New Delhi after a delay of about two hours.
The police registered a case and formed a special team to trace the caller.
