Gurukul students write Vande Mataram in blood

Varanasi, Sep 6 (UNI) Students of a Gurukul here this evening wrote 'Vande Mataram' in their blood on the eve of the centenary celebrations of the national song to be calminated tomorrow, on its adoption day.

The students of Dharma Sangh Shiksha Mandal wearing traditional sartorials first wrote the entire national song through 5,001 twinkling 'diyas' and then sang Vande Mataram.

The 'batus' -- the traditional name given to disciples of Sanskrit gurukul -- then wrote Vande Mataram in their blood, coordinator of the Shiksha Mandal Jagjitanji Maharaj said.

Students of Kashi Vidya Bhawan, Gaighat here clubbed the national song with Ganesh Puja, by singing the national song during the Ganesh idol immersion procession this evening.
