Ganesh idol immersion proceeds peacefully in city

Hyderabad, Sep 6 (UNI) The immersion of Ganesh idols place in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad today amid tight security.

The State Home minister K Jana Reddy, BJP senior leader and former Union Minister B Dattatraya and Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) leader and former Union Minister A Narendra welcomed the procession earlier in the day at Charminar where the procession began with the culmination of Ganesh idols proceeding from different parts of the city.

The idols were being immersed in Husain Sagar lake located in the heart of the city. It would continue till the early hours of tomorrow.

Foreign tourists, who came to the city, witnessed the mammoth event and expressed their happinness while participating in procession.

In a press release here, State Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy lauded the services rendered by Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation(APSRTC) and Railways.
