Editor denied bail

Surat, Sep 6 (UNI) City-based Gujarati eveninger ''Surat Saamna'' editor Manoj Shinde, held on charges of using abusing language against the Government, was denied bail by a fast track court here.

Fast track court judge A M Dave rejected Mr Shinde's bal plea yesterday while observing that the newspaper had used abusive language against the Government.

The duty of the newspaper is to create awareness among the public but it had failed in its duty, the court observed.
