Delhi-Jammu traffic affected by derailment
Jalandhar, Sep 6 (UNI) Rail traffic on busy Delhi-Jammu route remained disrupted for over two hours following derailment of a goods train near Suchchipind on the outskirts of the city last night.
Railway and Police sources said that one wagon of a tanker goods train, approaching Jalandhar went off the tracks near Suchchipind blocking the tracks.
The railway authorities immediately swung into action and cleared the tracks for traffic, however, it disrupted schedule of several long distance trains and the authorities were forced to divert some of these trains through Amritsar.
This was second instance of derailment of a goods train around this spot within a week. Earlier, seven wagons of a goods train were derailed near this village on August 30 night.
