BSF guns down a smuggler in Indo-Bangla border area

Balurghat, Sep 6 (UNI) The BSF gunned down a smuggler, Rasidul Mondal(22), of Srirampur Border area under Hili Block of South Dinajpur late last night.

Commanding Officer of 57 Battalion R P S Mallik said here that the smuggler was shot dead while fleeing Bangladesh with cattle stock.

The BSF Jawans chased some smugglers and fired five rounds in which Rasidul fell dead.

The BDR also fired five rounds.

Hili Station police recovered the body and sent it to Balurghat District Hospital for post mortem.
