Another bomb detected at Imphal
Imphal, Sep 6 (UNI) A bomb was detected today by passers-by at the National Highway 39 at Canchipur here near the Manipur University.
A bomb squad of the police immediately rushed to the spot and defused it thus avoiding a major disaster.
As many as 11 bombs have found in Manipur, since sunday.
Six people were killed in a blast at the ISKCON temple here on August 16. So far police has not been able to find any clue to that blast.
After the blast on September 3, eight bombs were found at Jiribam in Manipur-Asom border and another the next day at Singjamei, Imphal. A liquid like bomb was also found yesterday.
An Improvised Explosive Device detection and destruction team of the Army from 53 Engineer Regiment neutralised a series of eight IEDs planted on a pylon carrying high tension power line at Lalpani near Jiribam on September 3.
This feeder line supplies power to Jiribam sub-division.
