8 killed in various incidents

Hyderabad, Sep 6 (UNI) Eight people were killed while attending Ganesh idol immersion procession in three separate incidents in the state today.

Police said two children drowned in a river when they were participating in the ceremony near Kamepally village of Jastipally Mandal in Khammam District.

One person was killed at Polepalli in the same district.

A woman was crushed to death under a truck proceeding to Ganesh idol immersion ceremony at Old City in Hyderabad.

Four people were killed in another incident when a lorry turned turtle in Visakhapatnam District. The vehicle was carrying Ganesh idol for immersion in a nearby river.
