Vigilance takes steps for hearing in Flood scam
Patna, Sep 5 (UNI) In a bid to facilitate early start of hearing of multi-crore flood relief scam case, Bihar state vigilance investigation bureau today submitted police papers before a special court for passing them on to accused persons in the case.
While submitting 22 sets of police papers before special vigilance judge of Patna Ram Niwas Prasad, the bureau made a prayer to supply these documents to all the accused persons. After the supply of these documents, the court would be able to take steps for framing charges against the accused persons.
The designated judge directed all the accused persons to receive the documents and fixed September 16 the next date in the case.
According to the chargesheet, over Rs 13 crore had been syphoned off during the flood relief work conducted in North Bihar in 2004.
Former District Magistrate of Patna Dr Gautam Goswami, RJD MP Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav and supplier Santosh Kumar Jha were among the 22 chargesheeted in the case.
