Union Minister visits BEML facilities

Bangalore, Sep 5 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju today visited public sector Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) and held wide-ranging discussions with the management on its long-term plans and strategic developments.

The company, in a release here, said the Minister reviewed the status of various projects taken up by BEML after visiting its manufacturing facilities in Bangalore, Kolar Gold Fields and Mysore.

Appreciating the role played by BEML in actively interfacing between defence and civilian markets with its wide portfolio of products, the Minister also showed keen interest in infrastructural facilities developed by BEML to roll out state-of-the-art products designed for construction and mining industry.

The various initiatives taken up by BEML included broad-basing of R and D technologies by floating the exclusive technology division and improving export turnover by consolidating on existing markets and penetrating into newer markets for construction and mining equipment.
