Thane-Vashi suburban services disrupted

Mumbai, Sep 5 (UNI) Services on the Thane-Vashi suburban section of harbour line was disrupted for an hour today after a second year BE student fell down from a overcrowded second class compartment and sustained fracture.

Ajinkya Ajay Kulkarni (19), a second year BE student from Datta Meghe Engineering College who was travelling near the door of a overcrowded second class compartment of the Thane-Vashi train, fell down at 0945 hrs near Airoli and sustained fracture. He was admitted in Modi Hospital, Airoli, a Central railway spokesman said.

Students of the College disrupted the suburban services on Thane-Vashi harbour line section from 1105 to 1255 hrs by squatting on the railway track over this issue at Airoli station.

However, suburban services on this section resumed its services from 1255 hrs.
