Tea garden workers to launch state wide agitation

Agartala, Sep 5 (UNI) Tea workers in Tripura have threatened to launch an indefinite agitation if their demands were not matarialised immediately.

They are demanding among others- water and housing facilities, distribution of ration regularly, medical assistance and proper wages and bonus for 2005-6.

Recently a tri-partite meeting with the garden owners and labour unions of ruling CPI(M) and opposition Congress did not yield any result.

Next such meeting is schedule to be held on October 27.
