Supriya Sule files nomination for RS bye-election

Mumbai, Sept 5 (UNI) Supriya Sule, daughter of Union Agriculture Minister and NCP President Sharad Pawar, today filed her nomination for the Rajya Sabha by-election.

The seat had fallen vacant due to the death of NCP sitting MP Vasant Chavan.

The only child of Mr Pawar, 38-year-old Supriya Sule was accompanied by her husband Sadanand and her cousin Shrinivas Pawar who is the younger brother of State Water Resources Minister Ajit Pawar.

Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, State NCP President Arun Gujrathi, Public Undertaking Minister Anil Deshmukh, Energy Minister Dilip Walse-Patil, PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, State Congress President Prabha Rau, Revenue Minister Narayan Rane, Ajit Pawar were prominent among those present on the occasion.

Ms Sule joined the NCP recently and is member of the party's national council.
