Sugar eases on lack of fresh demand

Mumbai, Sep 5 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices eased on lack of fresh demand, traders at the sugar association said today.

Sugar of small and medium grades fell by Rs 20 and Rs 24 per quintal respectively on thin buying support.

Sugar of ex-mill small and medium grades declined by Rs 25 and Rs 30 per quintal respectively on sustained heayv selling pressure.

Following were the spot sugar wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,776/1,821, medium grade: Rs 1,806/1,870.

Ex-mill: small grade: Rs 1,755/1,765, medium grade: Rs 1,770/1,800.
