Six naxals surrender
Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 5 (UNI) Six naxalites, including five of CPI (ML) Maoist party, surrendered before the District Superintendent of Police M S Ravindra here today.
The surrendered naxals, included Nalgonda District Special Guerrilla Squad (SGS) Commander T Srinivas alias Kishan, Jana Natya Mandali, Commander Mudraboina Damodar alias Purushottam, Govindaraopet local organizing squad member Chinamalla Rambabu, Jana Natya Mandali member Kurusam Pothuraju alias Chander of Eturunagaram, Khammam district Gundala local organising squad member Agaboina Sujata (all of Maoist Party) and Prathighatana Party Narender squad member Jagajampula Mallesh alias Surender of Bhupalpalli.
Srinivas was involved in 23 cases, including three murders. He was responsible for killing Nalgonda District TDP Leader Ch Sudhakar Reddy and another TDP Leader Driver Chandranna.
All these surrendered naxals were underground for more than five years. They attributed different reasons like ill-health to growing disillusion with the naxal ideology.
Mr Ravindra assured the surrendered naxals of providing suitable rehabilitation package to enable them to lead a normal life. He urged them to educate the youth in their respective villages about the miserable life of naxal groups.
