SDM suspended for negligent behaviour in murder investigation
New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) A Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) was today suspended for his alleged negligent behaviour in probing a murder case last week.
Dayanand, SDM (Seemapuri, North-East district), was suspended for showing 'negligence' towards duty in a case of an alleged murder of a woman in Nand Nagri area of North-East Delhi last week, said sources.
Delhi Chief Secretary R Narayan Swami told UNI that SDM (Seemapuri) has been suspended.
''The orders were issued today,'' he added.
The woman, who hailed from Geeta Colony was married in Nand Nagri and had died under mysterious circumstances on the night of August 28-29.
The SDM did not visit the 'spot' till about 16 hours after the incident was reported to the police, which led to violent protests in the area.
The cremation of the lady's body, who got married nearly one-and-a-half years back, was delayed by nearly 17 hourrs before inspection was conducted, sources added.
