Ron Sommer joins TCS as Independent Director

Kolkata, Sep 5: Tata Consultancy Services, the leading global IT services and consulting company, announced that at a meeting of the Board of Directors held today the directors have appointed Dr. Ron Sommer as an additional Independent Director.

Dr. Sommer, the former chairman of the board of management of Deutsche Telekom, brings his extensive global experience in telecom and other sectors to the TCS board, the company said in statement.

He has a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Vienna.

Prior to joining Deutsche Telekom, Dr. Sommer spent 15 years with Japan's Sony Corp managing its German, US and European operations.
