Prisoners launch hungerstrike

Siliguri,Sep 5 (UNI) Thirteen prisoners-- Twelve Kamtapur Liberation Organisation and one Ulfa-- have started an indefinite hunger strike in Jalpaiguri Central Jail since this morning in support of their demands.

They have been demanding that their case be immdiately taken up and judgement given as soon as possible, said Sudhanshu Sarkar, advocate on behalf of these prisoners.

The activists are in jail for the last one and half years.
