Normalcy returns to Raisen in MP
Raisen, MP, Sep 5 (UNI) Normalcy has returned to this district headquarters that witnessed tension after alleged animal slaughter even as about dozen people were arrested in this connection.
A peace committee meeting -- called by the district administration last evening -- strongly criticised the incident and demanded the arrest of culprits.
Meanwhile, prohibitory orders under section 144 continued to remain in force.
Superintendent of Police J S Jaiswal said more than a dozen people had been arrested and interrogated in this connection.
Meanwhile, CRPF jawans had been deployed in the town in view of 'Ganesh Utsav', while 'Dol Gyaras' was celebrated with traditional gaiety in heavy police presence last night.
Collector Arun Bhatt told UNI that relief will be provided to people, whose shops suffered loss during agitation yesterday.
A tense atmosphere was created after an agitated crowd gheraoed a police station here yesterday.
