MP govt alleges wrong info dished out at PM's meet
Bhopal, Sep 5 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has alleged that the figures regarding communal incidents, which occurred in the state over the past two years, were blown out of proportion at Chief Ministers' meeting that conducted today at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence in New Delhi.
The number of incidents during 2005 was mentioned as 112, while the authentic figure was seven, an official release said here. The Centre placed the death toll at 16, while the actual figure was three. The number of injured was placed at 270, while the real figure was 24.
For 2006, 80 cases were mentioned, while the authentic figure was merely two. The death toll was pegged at 14, while the actual figure was nil. The Centre's figure of injured persons was 187, while the state's was 62.
