Monsoonal activity in MP

Bhopal, Sep 5 (UNI) The Southwest monsoon remained active overnight in Rewa, Jabalpur, Bhopal and Indore divisions of Madhya Pradesh while several locations in Ujjain and Hoshangabad divisions experienced heavy showers.

The state capital witnessed sunny skies that suddenly darkened in the afternoon and a downpour ensued. Drizzles continued until evening.

A Regional Meteorological Centre official said Lanji recorded maximum overnight precipitation of 11 cm. Corresponding figures were Ghansaur 7, Shahdol 5, Mandla 4, Harda, Dindori, Kevlari, Bhopal, Indore and Bioara 3 each, Balaghat 2, Satna, Katni, Waraseoni, Khandwa, Khargone, Badwani and Chanderi 1 cm each.

Many places in Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Sagar and Jabalpur divisions are likely to experience rain over the next 24 hours, the official said.
