Bilaspur, Sep 5 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh High Court has issued a notice to the state government on a petition demanding compensation to family members of two SC farmers killed at Bemetara in Durg district by Haryana-based accused besides a CBI inquiry into the murder last year.
Hearing a petition by Bhurki village-resident Ramesh Kumar Tandon, Chief Justice S R Nayak issued notice to Durg Collector, Senior Superintendent of Police and Bemetara Station House Officer and sought reply within three weeks.
The petition said Ramesh's father Kartik Ram and brother Punit Ram were killed on September 10, 2005 by five people, including main accused Sukhdev Singh, who were forcing Ramesh's family to sell their farm.
