Haryana to spend Rs 152 crore on irrigation projects
Chandigarh, Sep 5 (UNI) The Haryana Government has decided to spend Rs 152 crore on 40 irrigation projects to overcome the problem of water scarcity in the parched areas of the state.
While stating this here yesterday, Irrigation Minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav said that all these projects, which had been initiated on the instance of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, would be completed expeditiously in a record period of two years.
The Minister said that to execute the projects speedily, NABARD had been approached for funding these projects. A total number of 38 projects had been approved by NABARD and a sum Rs 132 crore would be spent on these projects jointly by the state Government and NABARD.
