Haryana to collect and preserve ancient documents
Chandigarh, Sep 5 (UNI) The Haryana Archives Department has appealed to the people of the state to donate ancient documents, letters, diaries, books and manuscripts for preservation.
The Archives Department will try and save them from decaying and destruction, an official spokesman said yester day.
If any individual was willing to retain these items in his possession, the Department would provide free guidance and advice for presciving the documents.
Such documents, he said, were the ancient heritage of the nation and scientific methods were being used for their preservation by the Department to preserve them for the coming generations.
All donated documents would be properly preserved and maintained in the name of the donor, the spokesman said.
