Flood relief: MPCC to stage 'dharna'
Bhopal, Sep 5 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) will stage a day-long sit-in here tomorrow in support of a demand for relief to the state's flood-affected persons.
MPCC President Subhash Yadav and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Jamuna Devi told reporters here today that Roshanpura would be the venue and a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would be submitted later.
Accusing the government of failure to supply relief, they added that despite the Centre's financial aid, relief distribution work was yet to get underway.
''Survey work is incomplete and grave complaints of discrimination along partylines are being received,'' Mr Yadav said.
The leader duo claimed that about Rs 261 crore were present in the government's Calamity Relief Fund while the Centre also made available interim relief of Rs 98 crore.
They slammed the government for not forming all-party committees for transparency in relief work.
