DTO arrested

Patna, Sep 05 (UNI) State vigilance bureau today arrested district transport officer (DTO) of Muzaffarpur for tampering documentary evidence related to a car allegedly sold to father of Santosh Jha, main accused of flood relief scam, by RJD MP Anirudh Prasad Yadav alias Sadhu Yadav.

Additional Director General of Vigilance, Neelmani said that DTO Brijraj Rai was arrested for tampering the documents of the concerned car during his tenure as DTO, Patna.

During the investigation of flood relief scam, state vigilance bureau had detected that Rs 6 lakhs was credited in the account of RJD MP from the account of Mr.Jha. The money was allegedly earned by Mr Jha during the flood relief scam follwing receipt of payment on fake bill against the supply of relief materials to flood victims.

Later, Mr Yadav claimed that the amount credited in his account was related to payment against the sell of the car to father of Mr Jha even as during investigation, the state vigilancnce bureau found that Mr Yadav was not the owner of the car that was sold by him. The arrested DTO had tried to fabricate the records to favour Mr Yadav.

A case in this connection was also registered against Mr Yadav.
