Court asks Badal to join investigation

Faridkot, Sep 5 (UNI) A local court today directed the Akali Rajya Sabha member Sukhbir Singh Badal to join the police investigations into the case of assault registered against him at the Kotkapura police station in the district.

A case against Mr Badal was registered at the Kotkapura police station as he had allegedly beaten a photo journalist during the 2002 state assembly elections campaign.

As per the court orders, Mr Badal has been asked to be present at the Kotkapura police station tomorrow from 1000 hrs to 1300 hrs.

The court has adjourned the hearing to September 14.

Mr Badal is presently on bail in the case.
