Copper rises along with LME
Mumbai, Sep 5 (UNI) Copper rose on better buying support along with the London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous segment, copper heavy hiked by Rs 200 per quintal on reduced stock supply.
In the non-ferrous category, copper wire bars and lead ingots went up by Rs 100 each per quintal due to increase in fresh demand. But zinc slab declined by Rs 200 per quintal due to sustained heavy selling pressure.
Tin slab and nickel cathode eased by Rs four and Rs 30 per kg due to increase of stock supply.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,200, Copper utensils - Rs 32,500, Brass utensils - Rs 22,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,900.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 41,100, Aluminium ingots - Rs 12,950, Zinc slab - Rs 18,700, Lead ingots - Rs 6,600, Tin slab - Rs 530 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,725 (per kg).
