Burundi's second vice president resigns
BUJUMBURA, Sep 5 (Reuters) Burundi's second vice president, the most senior ruling party member after the president, resigned today and criticised the government for corruption and human rights abuses.
''Today I decided to resign from my duties as second vice president of the republic,'' Alice Nzomukunda told reporters in the Burundian capital.
''My decision was motivated by numerous political problems which Burundian people are undergoing -- problems of security, of not respecting the law, the management of state finances and of human rights laws which are violated.'' Reuters MS DS1550
