BJP MP, MLA among others arrested for trying to stop train

Satna, MP, Sep 5 (UNI) About 184 people, including BJP MP Ganesh Singh and MLA Shankarlal Tiwari, were arrested for attempting to stop a train while staging a demonstration protesting shifting of Indian Oil depot from here to Jabalpur.

''During the all-party agitation, about 184 people, including Mr Singh, Mr Tiwari and Congress' Satna (rural) President Rajaram Tripathi, were arrested. However, everyone was released on bail later,'' Superintendent of Police Devprakash Gupta said.

The arrests were made at 1200 hrs when the agitators were moving towards railway station to stop train. They were released on bail later.

The oil depot, which is located in the midst of the town, is being shifted in view of security reasons. The demonstration was staged on the call given by the Vindhya Chambers of Commerce.
