Arrangements reviewed for Santosh Trophy

Chandigarh, Sep 5 (UNI) The Organising Committee has made all necessary arrangements for successfully hosting of the 61st National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy at Faridabad and Gurgaon from September 14 to October 25.

This was disclosed by Haryana Education and Sports Minister Phool Chand Mullana here today.

He said Santosh Trophy would be organised in the state for the first time after the formation of Haryana.

He said that the Ch Devi Lal Stadium in Gurgaon, with a seating capacity of 15,000, had been renovated for the tournament.

He added said that the stadium in Gurgaon would be the first stadium in the state to be well equipped with flood lights.

Mullana said 35 teams from all over the country would participate in this championship. Proper boarding and lodging facilities would be provided to the participants. Special attention would be paid on ensuring quality food for the players as per their taste and liking.
