Two including a foreigner dead in glacier avalanche

Uttarkashi, Sep 4 (UNI) Two persons, including a foreigner, was killed in a Gomukh Glacier avalanche, two km from Gangotri Dham on Sunday.

According to District Magistrate Uttarkashi Minakshi Sundaram, the information of the accident was received late by the authorities, besides it was a 20 km walk from Gangotri. He said the body of the foreign tourist was yet to be recovered.

Indian Tibetan Border Police Force rescue team has been pressed into service to retrieve for the body of the foreign tourist. The identity of the deceased are yet to be established, he said.
