Suzlon secures order from Edison Mission Group

New Delhi, Sep 4 (UNI) Suzlon Energy Ltd today said it has bagged an order from Edison Mission Group for supplying 50 units of its S88-2.1 MW wind turbines.

The deal has been signed by Suzlon Wind Energy Corp, US, a unit of the company's Denmark-based subsidiary Suzion Energy A/S (SEAS).

The delivery of the order is expected to begin in mid 2007.

With signing of these orders, the company said it has a current consolidated order book position of Rs 4,587 crore, with Rs 3,787 crore in international orders and Rs 800 crore in domestic orders.

Earlier, the company's Denmark susidiary recieved an order with Maestrale Green Energy of Italy for 21 MW, to be supplied in 10 units of Suzlon's S88-2.1 MW turbine.

SEAS also secured an order from Tecneira - Tecnologias Energeticas of Portugal for 39.9 MW of wind turbine capacity to be supplied in 19 units of the S88-2.1 Mw wind turbine.

Both these projects were expected to commence operation in the second quarter of 2007.
