SC issues notice to Andhra Pradesh on Dilip Kumar's writ
New Delhi, Sep 4 (UNI) The Supreme Court today issued a notice to the Andhra Pradesh government on two petitions filed by yesteryear Bollywood superstar Dilip Kumar, alias Yusuf Khan.
The notices seek cancellation of a non-bailable warrant issued against the 80-year-old actor by a local court in Hyderabad due to non-appearance in a cheque bounce case.
A bench comprising Justices S H Kapadia and R V Raveendran also extended the stay against the personal appearance of the film star.
Dilip Kumar has challenged two judgements of Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissing his criminal revision against the trial court order issuing a non-bailable warrant for him.
Dilip Kumar was one of the directors of the company which had issued the cheque which was dishonoured on account of insufficient funds .
Complaints under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act by the aggrieved party was made against the company as well as its directors which also include Dilip Kumar.
