SAAP to construct commercial complexes

Hyderabad, Sep 4 (UNI) The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) proposes to construct commercial complexes in SAAP property at Kukatpally, Guntur and Warangal to generate funds for sports development.

The SAAP Board chaired by M S Raj Thakur met here today and decided to start sports hostels at Hyderabad, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Kadapa, Ananthapur, Karimnagar, Warangal and Eturinagaram.

A commitee would be constituted with three members, Technical Advisor, SAAP Board Member, a Deputy Director and would propose the budget, number of inmates in selected disciplines and infrastructure.

The board agreed to provide raincoats to all groundsmen and uniforms to all attenders. It also decided to give ten acre land on lease to educational societies.

The Board decided to request the Cantonment Board through the Government to take back the cricket ground leased to the Hyderabad Cricket Association to lay an 800 m athletics track.

The SAAP would coduct a seminar for 12,000 Physical Education Teachers in the state.
