Prohibitory orders in MP town

Raisen, MP, Sep 4 (UNI) Normalcy has returned to this district headquarters that witnessed tension after alleged animal slaughter in the Jain temple area at about 0500 hrs today.

A mob began damaging shops at 0900 hrs and forced closure of the market. Police fired in the air to disperse the agitators and the situation was brought under control within an hour. Cases were registered against the accused. Collector Arun Bhatt issued prohibitory orders. SAF platoons were stationed.

This evening's peace committee meeting was attended by representatives of every community and eminent citizens.
