Prohibitory orders clamped in Raisen

Raisen (MP), Sept 4: Prohibitory orders under section 144 were clamped after a tense atmosphere was created in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen district when an agitated crowd of about 1,000 persons gheraoed Kotwali police station demanding arrest of the accused responsible for cow slaughter.

Earlier, police used mild force to disperse an agitated mob in Raisen main market.

Prohibitory orders were clamped as a precautionary measure.

Police claimed that the situation was in control.

Superintendent of Police and other senior officers were maintaining a tight vigil of the situation.
