Monsoon was weak in Karnataka

Bangalore, Sep 4 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.

Monsoon was weak over the State. Rainfall occurred at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over North Interior Karnataka.

Srinivasapura recorded heavy rainfall of 7 cm.

Other Chief amounts of rainfall(cm): Bandipura 2, Ponampet, Bangarpet1 each.

Forecast valid until Wednesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at isolated places over Interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather may prevail over Coastal Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Kolar, Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Mandya, Mysore and Chamarajnagara districts and at isolated places over Bellary, Chitradurga and Tumkur districts. Mainly dry weather may prevail over the remaining districts of the State.

Local forecast: Generally cloudy. A spell of light rain likely.
