Madeleine Albright meets PM, discusses security situation

New Delhi, Sep 4 (UNI) Former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright today called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and is understood to have discussed the Indo-US relations and the security situation in the region.

Ms Albright, who was with the Bill Clinton administration, is believed to have expressed her optimism over the Indo-US nuclear deal going through the American congress.

The former head of the US foreign office is on a personal visit to India.

Officials described the brief meeting as a courtesy call.
