HP Cabinet regularises unauthorised constructions in Shimla

Shimla, Sep 4 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet today decided to amend the Town and Country Planning Rules, 1978, and regularise all unauthorised constructions within Shimla Municipal Corporation limits up to June 30 this year, an official spokesman today said.

The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of state Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, decided to regularize unauthorized constructions within Shimla Municipal Corporation limits, barring green, heritage and core areas of the town.

The spokesman said the constructions were being regularised under the state's retention policy and as a one time measure by incorporating periodic specific stop gap provision of one year.

Owners having only one house in the specified area shall be required to apply to the competent authority on or before October 15, he said.

The Cabinet also decided to fill 2,673 posts of different categories in the Education, Animal Husbandry, Health, Social Justice and Empowerment departments of the state, he said.

He said out of a total of 2,673 vacant posts, 1,778 posts were in teaching and non-teaching categories in a number of upgraded schools, besides 786 posts of veterinary pharmacists, who would be recruited on regular basis to strengthen the veterinary health services in the rural areas of the state.

While 111 posts of different categories would be filled under the Integrated Child Development Service Scheme in the Social Justice and Empowerment Department on regular basis, 18 posts of different categories would be filled up in the upgraded Rohru Civil Hospital.

The spokesman said the hospital would provide health facilitate to patients of Nerwa, Chopal, Rampur Bushehar, Jubbal and Uttrakashi and Dehradun districts of adjoining areas of Uttaranchal.
